PACER collected more than $150 million in fees last year. That’s a drain on the public for viewing the work of our own public servants. The Open Courts Act is the right fix. https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2026/06/court-records-should-be-free

The free and open web is facing a major threat from publishers that are trying to change core internet standards at the IETF. Altering these protocols could harm how we use the web every day. https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2026/06/free-and-open-web-under-attack-ietf

I am asking my fan base to please stop harassing Tom Hanks for bumping into me, spilling mustard on my new sweater. Yes, Tom should have been more careful and shouldn't have covered his hot dog in a mountain of mustard, but it was an accident. Please stop calling him Hitler Hanks.

"It’s privacy-invasive, and it harms young people by denying them online free speech and access to ideas and communities that enrich their worlds and can change lives for the better," student organizer Genevieve Chin wrote for the Sacramento Bee about CA's AB 1709. https://www.sacbee.com/opinion/op-ed/article316106568.html

Another great #iotlondon meetup this evening: Music Thing (modular synth, which is having a dangerous effect on my gadget urges); Smarty Plant (a plant heath device and app); and Tether, a cycling safety device and heatmapped routes for safer travel. Great work curating these, Alexandra D-S!

“A core part of the danger of the proposed regime is there wouldn’t be much individuals can do to maintain their privacy,” EFF’s Chao Jun Liu told CNET. “It’s either fork over all your information or not have a phone number.” https://www.cnet.com/news/privacy/if-the-fcc-bans-burner-phones-it-could-be-a-privacy-nightmare/
