I am terribly sorry to interrupt your doomscrolling, but today's Low Quality Ad is for this Floral Axolotl Pin. Look at him. Does his floral crown make him king of the axolotls? No. It serves no functional or symbolic purpose. It just looks nice.https://collabs.shop/1ewagq

Many of us grew up watching MythBusters—learning that taking things apart is how you understand them. So why are companies making that harder? Learn more with Adam Savage and iFixit CEO Kyle Wiens during live conversation with EFF on July 23rd. https://eff.org/livestream-r2r

Headed away from Eastnor and #EMFCamp 2026 - some family time for a couple of days before getting back to normal life later in the week.Lovely time. I did not post much or read much online because of the IRLs. I saw some folks, and I missed many others I know were physically in the field, enjoying their own things!I always love collecting photos of the noticeboard and phone boards across the weekend.

When you access to healthcare is so poor that you are forced to look outside of the subsidize healthcare in your country. That's not the fault of the healthcare scammers! Have a little look at why your healthcare is so poor that people are being driven into the hands of potential scammersThe same is true for many other scams, usually it's driven by the product being unavailable or unaffordable in your country, or by people not being educated, it's not the fault of the person being scammed. It's really the problem with society that we blame victims, while big organisations—not scammers—take advantage of people. Scammers are filling the niche in the free market, even if it's fake, it's still the free market working as intended (or broken as intended, take your pick)Kurkumakuur tegen kanker? cross-posted from: lemy.lol/post/68742960 Built-in batteries put a timebomb inside devices, with especially the calendar aging feature of Li-ion chemistries setting a hard limit on when you’ll have to toss the device or figure out a way to replace the battery somehow. Here the EU’s Battery Regulation policy with the 2027 implementation of the user-serviceable battery requirement provided a lot of hope. Now six new categories of exemptions are diminishing what could have been a bonanza of easy repairability.
